CURRENT VACANCIES

We currently have two vacancies
1. Equine / Small Animal Vet
2. Client Care Team member – part time

EQUINE / SMALL ANIMAL VET

Take the leap!

We are an independent equine and small animal practice in Gods own County! A beautiful part of North Yorkshire on the edge of the Castle Howard estate and the Howardian Hills.

We are looking for an Equine/Small Animal Vet ideally 3 days per week (but if this is not the hours you are looking for don’t let that put you off – more important is someone who will enjoy the job, fit into the team and the life here).

Our search is for another special person to join our amazing and expanding team, who has the same independent family values as us; focused on going that extra mile for our clients providing continuity of care, our own out of hours and offering freedom of choice on medication and treatment options.  We don’t have targets – our clients and their pets are our priority!

You’ll be at least 2 years qualified.

From an equine perspective the role will involve both clinical and ambulatory first opinion work. The practice has 8 stables, stocks and lameness work up areas, gastroscopy, digital xray, shockwave and ultrasound for the equine side.  Our equine client base includes competitive horses to ponies as pets and companion horses, as well as local racing yards.

We have a broad loyal client base full of character, and their wonderful range of pets. We offer first opinion services for dogs, cats and rabbits. We are an ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic and are working towards Dog Friendly Clinic accreditation.

We have very good links with local equine referral practices and also offer access to specialist orthopaedic surgeons and referrals to Centres of Excellence across the UK when needed.

The nitty gritty

  • The salary will depend on the role and experience but will be generous in this competitive market, and regularly readdressed.
  • There are future investment / partnership prospects for the right individual.
  • The rota is shared equally between all the vets, with a set weekday night each week which helps with home life planning, and one weekend in five as we like to keep our “out of hours” in-house.
  • CPD is actively supported and is paid and time off given to complete it. We have two vets as certificate holders and one working to a cert and will actively support and encourage this
  • Holidays are vital and we currently give 5 weeks and bank holidays.
  • Mileage is currently paid at 55p per mile with plans for a practice vehicle next year.
  • Discounted veterinary fees and wellness plan membership for your pets
  • And of course a real coffee machine – and it really is good!

To apply, in the first instance please send an email with CV and covering letter to rachel@stationhousevets.co.uk
