Hill’s food sensitivity care for dogs

Food sensitivities

Hill’s z/d works by using hydrolyzed protein which is broken into such small pieces that the dog’s immune system no longer recognizes it as a trigger for allergic reactions. This, combined with prebiotic fibers to support a healthy gut and essential fatty acids to maintain healthy skin, helps manage the visible signs of food sensitivities and intolerances in dogs.

How it works:

Hydrolyzed protein:

  • The protein sources, such as chicken liver hydrolysate, are pre-digested through a process called hydrolysis. This breaks them down into tiny pieces that are too small to trigger an immune system response, which is the core issue in food sensitivities.

Prebiotic fibers:

  • The food includes a blend of prebiotics (ActivBiome+ Technology) that help fuel the beneficial bacteria in your dog’s gut. This promotes a healthy gut microbiome and can help normalize stool and improve digestive health.

Skin and immune support:

  • High levels of antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids help support a healthy immune system and nourish the skin barrier, which can reduce skin and digestive signs of food intolerances.

Key benefits:

Reduces signs of food intolerance:

  • It is clinically proven to help with both skin and digestive issues caused by food sensitivities.

Provides complete and balanced nutrition:

  • It is a complete and balanced diet, providing all the essential nutrients a dog needs.

Supports digestive health:

  • It helps nourish the gut and promote a healthy microbiome.

Promotes healthy skin:

  • Fatty acids and other nutrients help support the skin barrier and can reduce irritation.

Important considerations

Veterinary recommendation : these are therapeutic foods that should only be fed under the guidance of a et, who will determine the specific diet and feeding plan for your dog.

Gradual transition : when switching to a new food, it is recommended to do so slowly over 7–10 days to avoid gastrointestinal upset.

Long term use suitability : many Prescription Diet products are suitable for long-term feeding, but your vet will advise on the best approach for your dog’s individual needs.
