Protecting your cat with essential vaccinations
Vaccinating your cat is a safe and effective way to protect them from serious infectious diseases. At Station House Vets, we create personalised vaccination plans based on your cat’s lifestyle, whether they live indoors or enjoy outdoor adventures.
What are the core cat vaccinations?
Tricat Vaccines
These combined vaccines protect your cats:
- Feline Calcivirus – a common cause of cat ‘flu’, leading to mouth ulcers, sneezing and eye infections
- Feline Herpesvirus (Viral Rhinotracheitis) : Another major cause of cat flu, causing respiratory signs, eye problems and long-term flare-ups in some cats.
- Feline Leukopenia (Feline Infections Enteriris) : A highly contagious and serious viral disease causing severe vomiting, diarrhoea and immune suppression.
FeLV – Feline Leukaemia Virus
FeLV is a serious viral disease spread through close contact with other cats, such as grooming, biting and shared food bowls.
It can cause:
- immune suppression
- anaemia
- increased risk of infections and certain cancers
We strongly recommend the FeLV vaccine for:
- cats that go outdoors
- cats living with other cats
- cats that may come into contact with unfamiliar cats
Our vets are happy to discuss and advise the best vaccinations tailored to your cat’s lifestyle.
